The implementation of this project is currently underway.<br \/> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Special Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation Biokovka in Makarska has launched the &#8220;Biokovka 5.0&#8221; project, which aims to achieve a green and digital transition in developing high-added-value health and wellness tourism. The project&#8217;s total value is 9.1 million euros, of which 7.9 million euros were provided through grants from European Union funds.<br \/>  <\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-acbdb08 elementor-section-full_width elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"acbdb08\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-fbdef57\" data-id=\"fbdef57\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-74251e4 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"74251e4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Steps towards sustainable health tourism in Makarska<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5369b9b elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget-mobile__width-inherit elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5369b9b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project includes the following activities:<br \/><\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Energy renovation of the building<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Reconstruction of the facade and replacement of carpentry in order to improve the energy efficiency of the building.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Introduction of renewable energy sources<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Installation of a photovoltaic power plant for the production of electricity from solar sources.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Digitization of business processes<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Implementation of advanced digital solutions for the purpose of improving the quality of services and operational efficiency.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Development of new health and wellness facilities<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Expanding the range of services to meet the growing needs of users for high-quality health tourism.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project partner is the Public Institution Biokovo Nature Park, which will participate through educational, advisory, and marketing activities, as well as preparation and management of the project. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Implementing the &#8220;Biokovka 5.0&#8221; project will contribute to the development of year-round tourism in the Makarska area, reduce environmental impact, and ensure sustainable destination management. Thus, the Republic of Croatia&#8217;s strategic tourism and sustainable development goals will be fulfilled.
